How Do I Find My Passion?
So you want to try a more more self sufficient DIY lifestyle?
You want to investigate alternative incomes and possible alternative paths but don’t have a clue which one might be for you?
Folk write me that the time is right for investigating other options but they haven’t a clue in what area.
I have always identified what makes me happy in life so this used to surprise me as I didn’t understand how someone could reach the age of say, twenty five and still not know who they are and what made them tick. Then I realized that if no one had given them a map or clues all their young lives they could reach fifty and still not know.
To find your passion you have to start asking good questions of yourself and not only asking but answering! When you ask these questions it is quite important that you turn off the edit and censor buttons in your head and allow your answers to free flow.
Here are some good questions to ask:
- When I was a young child what did I get most excited about and why?
- What direction would I be most pleased to hear that my child was taking?
- Who are my favourite artists, celebrities, politicians or sports people and why?
- Is there something that I could do in their field? Remember that these people apart from being famous also need to be clothed, styled, shopped for, they need products to buy…
- If I was told by a doctor that I had limited time left to live, what would immediately flash into my brain as something that I regret not doing or achieving.
- What did I most enjoy at school?
- Where would I like to see myself in ten years?
(Remember not to self edit. Let the answers come freely. A good idea is to jot the answers down or record them onto a dictaphone. Then go back and listen to them and find the you hiding in those uncensored answers. It should help reveal a possible new path or income source.
